Allatoona High School
OUR PROGRAMS / SERVICES
Your Buccaneer PTSA has served our students for more than a decade now. Every year, we try and grow our membership and provide more for our school. These are just a few of the things your PTSA has done in the past, plus some exciting new benefits for our 2024-2025 Buccaneers.
For our Teachers
If you want to know what students need to attain knowledge, skills, and move them toward college and career success, you ask the experts: our Teachers. Each year, PTSA provides Classroom Grants for the "extra" that puts Allatoona students ahead of the pack. We've purchased books, music for our Fine Arts Department, mixers and supplies for Culinary Arts, recording equipment for our TV/Film classes, even supplies to practice sports medicine and more.
Teacher/Staff appreciation starts with a Welcome Back lunch in July followed by a holiday meal and then we go big for Teacher Appreciation Week in May! We even celebrate our staff year round with our Teacher of the Month award, nominated by students and parents.
We are proud to host the Baccalaureate service annually for our Seniors and their families. The services are held at a local place of worship.
For our Families
PTSA hosts a monthly Coffee Talk meeting with our principal, Dr. Lexi Bultman. Dr. Bultman and her staff answer questions and keep parents plugged in to all things Allatoona. After the great response last year, PTSA will now offer the monthly meeting in a hybrid in-person/virtual format.
Allatoona PTSA is pleased to host a Meet and Greet with Principal Dr. Bultman! You're invited to meet Principal Dr. Bultman and other Buc parents, including our PTSA board, at Mellow Mushroom. Our goal is to answer any questions, help you navigate and get comfortable. Mark your calendars for this exiting event! Hope to see you there!
Buc Blast is our weekly e-newsletter that keeps our Buc families informed on PTSA, school, athletic, and community events.
For our Students
The Reflections Arts Recognition Program is a national arts recognition and achievement program for students. We provide access to the arts, plus celebration and recognition for Allatoona participants in the first round of the national PTA Reflections program.
Scholarships are provided by the PTSA each Spring. The Buccaneer PTSA awards two $1000 annual college scholarships to two AHS Seniors. You must be a PTSA member to apply. Over the years, we have granted nearly 30 AHS Seniors over $30K in college scholarships.
SAT PREP: AHS PTSA sponsors SAT Prep classes that sell out every year. Open to everyone, but especially geared toward our Junior class, they are taught after school by seasoned instructors.
And Much More
Helping Hands:
PTSA helps ensure holidays are happy for all Buccaneers through holiday gift giving programs and holiday meal gift cards for families in need.
College/Career Planning:
PTSA rotates with other West Cobb high schools in supporting QUEST College Fair. The event allows students to explore educational opportunities after graduation. Representatives from colleges, universities, and technical schools attend. Buccaneer Reboot: Access to technology was vital in keeping kids learning during the pandemic and resources were scarce. AHS PTSA solicited donations of used laptops and with the help of parent volunteers, repurposed them for student use.
Teen Topics:
PTSA has sponsored several student series on critical topics such as online safety and distracted driving.
Honor Roll Treats:
Bucs are a smart bunch and we celebrate their dedication to their studies every chance we get. PTSA helps support treats for Honor Roll students.
